Our McConnell family can only be traced back to the early 1800′s. Charles Russell McConnell was born in New York in 1828. He married Sophia Laib in Kent Co., Michigan in 1859. She was born in Ohio in 1837. They farmed in Carmel Twp., Eaton Co., MI. Related families include Bradley, Laib, Blackmer, Kimball and Lankton.
I have a Bradley book at home, away right now, and will see what I can find in it. Disappointed if this is all you could find on the McConnells. We hope we aren’t related toMitch McConnell from KY. in congress. Mom said that one brother went off from the rest of the family and last she knew they hadn’t found him. Mom had a cousin in Coldwater, MI and the two of them were working on history before he died. His daughter was said to be carrying on the research and last we knew she was still alive in Coldwater. Will try to find her name and see if there is some way to contact her. You are better at this than I am.
I am Linda McConnell Fuller. I am the daughter of Russell McConnell your Mom’s brother. Our family moved away from Michigan in 1949 to Ohio, then NY. Be assured, however, than we are not connected to Mitch McConnell. I am working on a family tree. Today I am sending all the family information I have to Ann LeVan in Texas. I found her address online. I have very little information about Zella’s descendants. I would really like to hear from you to be able to expand my family tree. I would e-mail what I have if you want. We lost our brother, Alan, last February & don’t know how much info Ann can give you. Alan, Virginia & I were at Grandma McC along with Aunt Beulah’s kids every summer &there were times that you were there at same. Dave, So glad that you have connected with Linda McConnell. None of us had any idea where she &brother might be. I can’t remember his name but did her’s. After Uncle Russell died mom couldn’t find Aunt Arlene. Will be interested in what she has found so far.Really hope we aren’t related to Mitch McC. for sure.
